Vodafone, Idea and Airtel customers will also get free calling on other networks

Vodafone, Idea and Airtel customers will also get free calling on other networks

The company has tweeted itself and provided free calling information
Like Jio, these customers do not have to make top-up recharge
Calling on Jio non-Jio network will charge 6 paise per minute

There have been rumors that other companies in the market will take similar decisions after Reliance Jio stopped free outgoing voice calls from prepaid and postpaid users. Vodafone-Idea and Airtel have tweeted to dispel these rumors. The company has told customers that they will not charge interconnect charges for calls from their users to other networks.

Vodafone-Idea and Airtel customers will get the same free calling facility as before. No additional top up recharge will be required for this. As of October 10, Reliance Jio has discontinued outgoing voice calls for their prepaid and postpaid users.

It was proposed to abolish the IUC charge from January 1, 2020

Jio said that every Internet call, incoming call and calling from Jio to Jio and landline will be as free as before. Trio reduced the IUC charge from 14 paise to 6 paise on October 1, 2017. It was proposed to be completely abolished from January 1, 2020, but Tri has brought back its consultation paper. So this charge can continue even further.

Forced to make this decision

Jio says that in the last three years, he has paid Rs 13,500 crore to another operator for IUC charges. So far, the burden has not been on consumers. But the decision has to be made in compulsion after December 31, fearing the charges will continue. Jio's network receives 25-30 million missed calls daily.
